  • Recently, Michael Gove, the Education Secretary made a striking announcement when he showed the government's intention to overhaul "bureaucratic" planning laws to allow teachers and pupils to use existing buildings for schools and teaching places. A great number of groups, half of them comprising of teachers, had expressed their interest in opening new schools before the education secretary made the announcement. Under the new scheme, buildings-converted schools will be funded by the taxpayer and will operate independently from state control, and exempted from paying the yearly fee to government.
